- Philosophy of Improv (paraphrased from a blog I found), Part I
- every scene has a soundtrack (rhythm/pace/emotion)
- Always know Who and Where you are for every scene
- "earn wit every day" aka take in experiences, learn, watch good comedians and things that inspire you. That's what you have to work from, it'll be on the top of your head for you to draw from.
- Know your Character = their choices and opinions, aka have a sense of how they will react to the environment and other characters. It'll make it easier on you.
- When in doubt, talk about philosophy
- don't play it safe, don't be afraid to make
mistakesdiscoveries - the Moment is the goal, so go be in the Moment
- have a plot, but you don't need to discuss it (better known as show, don't tell)
- have faith in the scene (not control over it)
- learn from improv sessions (skills, new discoveries, perhaps about yourself?)
